I hate turbulence. Can you really help me overcome this fear?
Yes. Most people who attend our course are uncomfortable in turbulence. This subject is covered in great detail on the course. Our pilots will explain what causes turbulence and reassure you why it is uncomfortable but not dangerous. Our psychologist will teach you techniques to help reduce your anxiety during turbulence.
I have flown many times but have recently developed a fear, how will your course help me?
We have been running courses for over twenty years, and in that time we’ve seen many people with many different fears. Our extensive experience has allowed us to develop a course that not only helps first time flyers, but also those who’ve flown before. Our team of helpers has enormous experience in helping all kinds of people overcome their fears.
I am claustrophobic. Is your course relevant to helping me overcome my fear?
Over the years several thousand people who are claustrophobic or who suffer from a fear of heights have attended our courses. During the afternoon part of our courses our Harley Street Clinical Psychologist explains why we suffer from these types of fear and shows you what you can do to control them. You will also be taught relaxation techniques that you can put into practice on the flight.
How successful is your course?
Having had over 45,000 people attend the course, we have substantial evidence of how successful they are, and we have a 98% success rate. Having said that, we always stress that overcoming a fear may take longer than just one day. Which is why we advise people to contact us first to talk through their fears.
I notice there are alternative courses run by other airlines why should I attend yours?
We were the first fear of flying course in the UK, so we’ve had many years to develop a course and build up a team that really understands your fears and anxieties. We want to change your attitude to flying, and our years of experience have taught us the best way to achieve this goal.
Before I book I would like to talk to somebody about my fears, is this possible?
You can call or e-mail us at any time and we’ll get back to you. When you contact us you will talk to either Captain Peter Hughes, Managing Director of Flying with Confidence, or another member of our team. Whoever you speak to, they’re all experts involved in running the courses, so they’ll offer first class advice and reassurance. Everything is treated in confidence.
I am attending the course, but can I bring my partner?
We offer a flight-only option for friends or family of those taking part in a course. This option is also available to people who have attended a course in the past and are looking for a 'top up'. The cost of the flight only is £149 including VAT.
As someone who used to suffer panic attacks at the first sight of a plane, I was really dreading flying off on honeymoon. I still can’t believe how relaxed and calm I was on the day, all thanks to the team at Flying with Confidence.
